UP THE RIVER
August 5 to September 4
1000 Islands Playhouse - Springer Theatre

Inspired by Kenneth Grahame's well-loved tale Wind in the Willows, playwrights John Corrigan, songwriter David Archibald and Kathryn MacKay have updated and renewed this classic tale and set it on the St. Lawrence River. Brimming with humour, music and fun, the play begins on the docks of the Playhouse as we are introduced to the characters that live along the river. After the outdoor show featuring surfer dudes, big production numbers and boats of all descriptions, playgoers head into the Springer Theatre for more adventure. As we follow Toad's madcap escapades we ask about the nature of home, friendship and how the river informs how we live here in Eastern Ontario. Fun for the whole family!Website
