| Time to Laugh is proud to present Nikki Payne and Cedric Newman Friday 9:00 pm 09:00 PM | July 18 , 2008 |
| The East Coast is famous for its seafood, fiddle music and a little lady who humps things, named Nikki Payne. Growing up in a trailer park with a speech impediment may sound tragic to many, but it is comedic gold to Nikki Payne. Not letting anything stand in her way, she has been nominated for two Gemini Awards, and has won countless Canadian Comedy Awards. She is most known for her appearance on NBCs Last Comic Standing and Much Musics Video on Trial. Nikki has written for This Hour Has 22 Minutes", Comedy Inc and Pop- Cultured. Nikkis CTVs Comedy Now Special is one of the highest rated ever in the entire worlds history! Nikki also lent her unique voice to Disneys The Wild as a monkey with braces. When she is not winning awards she is developing a new CTV show in her secret underground laboratory. It is no surprise to learn that Nikki has garnered a lot of attention south of the border. The Hollywood Reporter publication raved about Nikkis performance at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal. It seems the world cannot get enough of this little firecracker. Nikki also finds the time to sit on the board of directors for a charity called "Making Faces", a group that teaches improv and acting classes to promote self-esteem in children who are afflicted with facial deformities. In conclusion, to quote Nikkis mom, "Shes just so darn cute", you wont want to miss her! Born in Jamaica and raised in Montreal, this comic brings both distinct cultures on stage with him. His charm and likeability grabs hold of the audience, and his clever sharp wit has you from the word go. Cedric Newman has a keen sense and brings a whole new style to observational comedy. Cedric's energy on stage is fresh and entertaining. He breaks down all cultural barriers and brings you into his world as he sees it. Definitely the most sought after new young comics in Canada This is an "X-Rated Show" not recommended for those who are easily offended. |
